MESOAMERICAN HIGHLANDS GARTER are very rare in US collections and very little is known about this species. Their range is from central Chiapas, Mexico through Southern Guatemala on into Southwestern Honduras and El Salvador. Our adult females average 18-20", adult males average 12-14", making them one of the smaller thamnophis species. They do have small litters, In 2007 we had 2 clutches of babies, one had 10 babies (6 live, 4 stillborns) and the other had 7 babies. Our adults feed aggressively on rodents. As of 2012, we no longer work with this species. If anyone has information
on where I may reacquire this species from within the continental US, please contact me.
