GRANITE GARTER is so named due to its granite like appearance, this morph genetically appears to be axanthic due to its lack of yellow pigmentation. In late Spring 2002, Sam Craver found a seemingly normal gravid adult female Eastern which ended up producing forty plus young, three of which were this trait. UPDATE: In 2007, we successfully bred double het (axanthic x silver) to double het (axanthic x silver) and unfortunately didn't produce any granites. We will try again in 2008, hopefully with better results. As of 2011, this morph has never been replicated and unfortunately don't expect to produce anymore.
