Welcome to the official web site of Scott Felzer's Garter Snakes!
Garter snakes, once considered soley a beginner's snake, are becoming more and more popular as pets. Garter snakes make great pets, from beginners to even the most advanced hobbyist. They are small by colubrid standards (rarely exceeding 4 feet in length), inquisitive by nature, diurnal, colorful, docile and can be fed a varied diet of fish/worms/rodents (see caresheet). They are easy to care for and do well in captivity, with an average lifespan of 10 years.
