Available AnimalsGarter snakes,  once  considered  soley a beginner's  snake,  are becoming more and more popular as  pets. Garter snakes make great pets, from beginners to even the most advanced   hobbyist.   They   are   small   by colubrid  standards  (rarely exceeding 4 feet in  length),   inquisitive   by   nature,  diurnal, colorful, docile  and  can be fed a varied diet of fish/worms/rodents (see caresheet). They are  easy  to  care  for and do well in  captivity, with an average lifespan of 10 years.

Specialization  in  unusual  patterns  and  color  morphs  is  our  forte. We are currently working with the following species and morphs:

Blue striped garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis similis)

California red sided garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis)-Normal, hypomelanistic & neon blue California Red Sided garter snake
